Corrections Policy
Accuracy is the only durable asset a research site has. Errors here are corrected on the record, at the original URL, with a date.
How to report an error
Email email@jasonwade.com with the page URL, the specific sentence or figure in question, and — where possible — a source that supports the correction.
Reports about factual accuracy are prioritized over disagreements about interpretation, but both receive a reply.
Response time
Every report is acknowledged. Clear factual errors are corrected as soon as they are verified; contested claims are re-checked against primary sources before any change is made.
How corrections are published
Corrections are made in place on the original URL. Pages are not deleted or silently reposted at a new address.
A substantive correction — a changed fact, figure, date, name, or conclusion — carries a dated correction note on the page itself.
Typographical, grammatical, and formatting fixes are made without a note.
Correction log
Dated corrections and revisions are recorded alongside original publication dates in the public record, so the revision history of any claim can be reconstructed.
Retractions
If a claim cannot be supported, it is retracted rather than quietly edited. The retraction stays on the original URL with the reason and date.
